UNJPPI 2014 Annual Meeting Registration
The UNJPPI 2014 Annual Gathering will be held in Ancaster, Ontario (near Hamilton) from Friday evening, September 12 to Sunday noon, September 14.
Registration starts at 4:30 pm, dinner is at 5:30 pm, and the evening program starts at 7:30 pm.
The Gathering will be in a residential setting at Canterbury Hills Conference Centre, an Anglican-affiliated facility. The Centre is situated in the Dundas Valley on 72 beautiful acres of unique Carolinian Forest, just 18 minutes from downtown Hamilton.
The Annual Gathering is an important event to consolidate the network, plan our strategy for the coming year, get inspired by special speakers and network members who have visited Palestine/Israel, and worship together, as we deepen our commitment to the cause of justice and peace. This year our keynote speaker is Kathy Bergen, a Canadian Quaker who just returned earlier this year to live in Canada after spending 20 years working in Ramallah. We’ll also enjoy the presence of a number of representatives from partner organizations.
As in past annual gatherings, UNJPPI will be using a travel pool system to make participation possible for everyone from across Canada. The intent is to make the cost roughly equal for all participants, whether you are from southern Ontario, Newfoundland, B.C., the Yukon and everywhere in between! The cost for the gathering, which includes a room, meals, and travel pool, is $500, and we would encourage you to seek support if needed from justice-related groups in your Conference and/or Presbytery.
We've had a great year of launching the Unsettling Goods campaign, advocacy with the government, deepening awareness of the situation in Palestine, and consolidating our network. In order to keep growing as an organization, we need your participation at the Annual Gathering!
Instructions for registration are included in the registration form. Registration deadline is August 15th, but don’t wait ‘til then, as we’ll likely reach our maximum of 45 participants before that date!
We hope to have good representation from every region, so we hope to hear from you soon!
