Alternative Carbonation Systems
There are several alternatives to SodaStream for folks who still want to make their own carbonated beverages at home, or on the go.
The most well-advertised alternative found in Canada is called Fizzini, which is made by the Canadian company 'Hamilton Beach'. It is available at Home Hardware, Wal Mart and Coop. It is very well reviewed, and is much more affordable than SodaStream.
There's also a Canadian-made brand called Sodamistic, which has a Christmas sale that allows you to save $100 on their machine (including the CO2), which is valid until December 31, 2013.
While the Cuisinart Sparkling Beverage Makers aren't sold at Canadian Retailers, the machine can still be purchased online through Amazon's Canadian website.
Another excellent alternative, which is similar to Fizzini, is Sodasparkle, which is very portable and more affordable than SodaStream. It can also be purchased through Amazon's Canadian website.
