​Apartheid is commonly known as a social policy that promotes overt discrimination and gross injustices onto the people it is targeted against.

In the context of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, Israeli Apartheid against the Palestinians manifests itself in land ownership, settlement patterns, occupational structures, educational demographics, accessibility to health facilities and other social amenities and indeed in every other sphere of human existence. While the stark realities of discrimination and marginalization are camouflaged through myriad laws and procedures, for the Palestinian living under Israeli dominance, apartheid is a painful truth that permeates every facet of her daily life. The Palestinian and Arab challenge to the illegal, colonial state of Israel serves as justification for the latter's callous treatment of the former.

Christian Zionism has now emerged as an equally compelling legitimization for the practice of apartheid against both Muslim and Christian Palestinians. Making people everywhere aware of how apartheid expresses itself in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is fundamental to the struggle of the Palestinian people for their freedom and liberation. It is this awareness that renders the struggle universal --- a struggle that is of extraordinary significance to human beings everywhere. This is why a leading Israeli human rights group openly denounced Israeli Apartheid. Our discussions and presentations at the webinar enhanced the pivotal importance of our understanding of “Israel as an Apartheid State”.
