Israeli soldiers kill Palestinian boy from Jalazoun refugee camp

Wajih Wajdi al-Ramahi, 15, was dead on arrival at the Palestinian Medical Compound in Ramallah, from a single gunshot wound to the back.
Ramallah, December 12, 2013—Israeli soldiers killed a teenage Palestinian boy in disputed circumstances outside Jalazoun refugee camp, near the West Bank city of Ramallah, on Saturday.
Wajih Wajdi al-Ramahi, 15, was dead on arrival at the Palestinian Medical Compound in Ramallah, from a single gunshot wound to the back. The shooting occurred near an UNRWA school situated between Jalazoun refugee camp to the east and the Jewish settlement Beit El to the west, which houses nearly 6,000 Israeli settlers and is built on predominately privately owned Palestinian land.

The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) strongly condemns the Israeli forces' detention of 2 Members of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) from the Change and Reform Bloc of Hamas: Nizar Abdul Aziz Abdul Hamid Ramadan (53); and Mohammed Maher Yusef Bader (55), both from Hebron, in addition to 20 other Palestinians, including active university students and a number of persons affiliated to Hamas, in different areas in the West Bank. PCHR emphasizes this arrest campaign constitutes a form of collective punishment against the Palestinian civilians, which is prohibited under article 33 of the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention.

Israeli naval forces continued to carry out attacks on Palestinian fishermen in the Gaza Strip during the reporting period (01-30 September 2013), including (6) shooting incidents that led to wounding one fisherman and causing partial material damages to a fishing boat, and a chasing incident that led to the confiscation of two fishing boats.
