The Women's Boat to Gaza needs your help
[This appeal has been endorsed by UNJPPI.]
The Women's Boat to Gaza (WBG) is a Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) initiative. The Canadian Boat to Gaza www.canadaboatgaza.org is a major part of the Coalition and this initiative. By launching a women’s boat, women from all over the world aim to highlight the undeniable contributions and indomitable spirit of Palestinian women who have been central within the Palestinian struggle in Gaza, the West Bank, inside the Green Line and in the diaspora.
Gaza has been under Israeli blockade for the past decade during which Israel has also launched countless attacks against the besieged population, turning their lives into a nightmare and a continuous struggle. The physical wars have not only invaded the economy, markets and the land of Gaza, but have raided and assaulted homes, families, schools, and national museums, destroying civilization, heritage, culture, memory and hopes.
Through Freedom Flotillas and other naval missions the Canadian Boat to Gaza has protested against the passivity and complicity of the international community, especially western governments. Simultaneously and as importantly, we have called for civil society solidarity with the Palestinian resistance.
The Women's Boat to Gaza will challenge the Israeli blockade to show solidarity and bring a message of hope to the Palestinian people. With the support of women, men, non-governmental organizations and civil society groups we will make this happen.
The Canadian Campaign (Canada Boat to Gaza) needs to raise $20,000 by the end of April (we are about 1/2 way there) to meet our commitment to WBG, with another $30,000 to raise by July. Your organization’s support to help us reach these goals will be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
