Advent Actions

Here are some actions that you can take now to support the people of Gaza:

• Post the joint letter from the Moderator and the National Indigenous Council to Justin Trudeau, the Kairos statement, and the PalNet - SW Call to Action on your web site, send them around on your members’ list serve, and send the Moderator/NIC’s letter to the Prime Minister along with your thoughts and prayers; 

 

• As the United Church is receiving strong negative reactions to the ceasefire call from the Moderator and the National Indigenous Council to the Prime Minister, communicate your support about it to moderator@united-church.ca and/or gce@united-church.ca, and to the NIC in care of Rev. Murray Pruden, Executive Minister, Indigenous Ministries and Justice at MPruden@united-church.ca;

 

• “Preach Palestine” during Advent (Nov. 29 was the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People). UNJPPI has many resources for preaching on its web site.
